Every Filipino was taught in school about our
struggle for freedom from Spain. The Philippine Revolution was an armed
military conflict between the Filipinos and the Spanish colonial authorities
which resulted in the secession of the Philippine Islands from the Spanish
Empire.
The Filipino Revolution and its ideals were an
inspiration to the nationalists and film producers. These movies are important reminder of the Katipuneros’
sacrifices to gain independence. On the
field of battle they have given their lives not only in combat or in the open
plain but also in martyrdom’s plight.
