Do you remember the good old days when department stores would offer free gift wrapping with a fancy card of the establishment that purchases made for weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries? Those were the days when you could judge how expensive a gift was based on the store it was bought from, even before opening it! It was like playing a high-stakes guessing game. "Hmm, this gift is from COD, it must be a classy item!"
Back in the day, Manila-based stores like COD, Good Earth, Otis, Crispa, Wonderland, and Edison were all the rage back then. These stores were the place to shop and be seen, before the rise of supermalls.
Looking back, it's hard not to feel a sense of nostalgia for the simplicity and charm of those bygone times. Nowadays, gift-giving is all about ordering online and having it delivered straight to your doorstep.
