11. Philippine COCA-COLA YO-YO Mania

During the 70s the yo-yo mania was a hit in Manila. These yo-yos were given as promotional items by Coca-Cola that could be exchanged if you find a FREE Yo-yo under the bottle cap. They were not sold to the general public and were quite hard to find.  Each yo-yo is classified depending on one’s expertise - Beginner, Spinner, Professional, and Super. TV noontime shows like Student Canteen have an exhibition contest for the best Coca-Cola yo-yo player to promote these toys.

Coca-Cola Company branded yo-yos are the most collected brand of yo-yos, sought after by kids, yo-yo collectors, and the collectors of Coca-Cola memorabilia. The company has been producing advertising yo-yos and sponsoring contests for decades, the most memorable being the partnership with Russell in the 1970s and 1980s.

These Coca-Cola yo-yos were made in the Philippines and were distributed worldwide.

  18. Great article sir..doing some research on this as i found 6 coca cola super spin yoyos i bought from way back. Not sure when it was produced and its not in any of the pics in your article. Its edges are clear (not white) and has the Coca Cola script logo (same on both sides) instead of the boxed branding.
